Magnets inside moulds (high-temperature magnets)
In the foundry industry and the manufacture of plastics it is often necessary to hold smaller parts of moulds using a magnet. Given the high working temperatures it is impossible to use "classic" ferrite magnets or FeNdB magnets. However, there are two types of magnets suitable for these applications – SmCo and Alnico magnets. They are mostly used in steel enclosures (see Magnetic holders and clamping fixtures) to increase the magnetic force and mechanical protection.
